Amorphous and nanocrystalline soft magnetic alloys with a thickness amongst 0.02-0.04 mm are made by what is known as the melt spinning technique. These are referred to as “quenched soft magnetic alloys”. They are also called metal glass because of the disordered atom distribution within the materials and the irregular arrangement of the crystal. Amorphous alloys can be divided into three major classes, including Fe-based, Co-based and iron-nickel based alloys.
